Pinniped Contemplations in Semi-isolation

Do you feel like a seal?

I do. I’m not sure which one I am in the picture. I haven’t decided, but I’m in there somewhere. Wind, water, and waves have conspired to make hanging on a nice piece of rock preferable to swimming right now. And let’s not forget those great white sharks. They’re out there, too… somewhere. Things will improve, although I’m likely to get soaked for the foreseeable future. It’s tough being a seal, but better than being a bug.

I’m hoping for a change in the weather. We talk about that a lot. It’s what seals do when we‘re lounging about on a rock — that and think about fish. Did I ever tell you about the time I ate this really big one? I was full for a week. Bugs don’t eat fish. Being a seal is definitely better than being a bug. Imagine life without fish? I can’t. I sure like them. I’m going to eat one soon. Just as soon as I can get off this rock. It’s the weather, you see. It’s always the weather. I think I’ll take a nap now. All the excitement of thinking about weather and fish has worn me out.
